Meet Diane – Grant Halliburton Foundation’s director of finance and operations.
Diane manages day-to-day human resource needs and financial activities, including monitoring accounts, preparing financial reports, and processing donations and grants. In her spare time, she also works as a financial coach to help those in need create their own financial health and stability.
Here are 10 things to know about Diane!
1. What was your first job?
For my first job, I worked in retail at a little boutique called M. Fredric and Co. during high school.
2. What’s your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is laying on the couch binge watching a show or maybe it’s listening to 80s music. It’s both!
3. What advice would you give to your teenage self?
Stop trying to fit into a certain crowd. Your authentic self is exactly who you should be and is perfect as it is.
4. What’s your favorite movie scene and why?
I’m such a romantic at heart. I love the scene in “When Harry Met Sally” when Harry confesses his love to Sally and say’s, “I came here because when you realize you wanna spend the rest of your life with someone, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.”
I love that feeling with a person or passion that enters your life and you realize you want to move toward it as fast as you can.
5. What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I used to describe myself as someone who had a touch of wanderlust. I’m always looking for the next thing to do to be adventurous. To name a few, I’ve gone skydiving, taught yoga for several years, picked up and moved to a new city, and went on a two-week hike in Spain. I’m looking for my next adventure. I love to be training for something new all the time.
6. What would you name the autobiography of your life?
I hope to be always discovering something new and interesting, so my autobiography would be called “What’s Next on Your Journey.” There’s so much to experience, and I’ve barely scratched the surface.
7. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I’m usually out at the park with my dog, taking a yoga class, hiking, or on a patio with friends at happy hour.
8. What are your top three TV shows you’re streaming right now?
This changes all the time, but I’m watching ”Virgin River,” “Severance,” and “Hacks.” I also love documentaries and watch a lot of those.
9. Where’s your favorite travel destination and why?
Oh, that’s hard to pick! I love the ocean as much as the mountains. I like Cabo San Lucas and Colorado because both are easy to get to and beautiful.
10. Why is Grant Halliburton Foundation’s mission important to you?
As I child I struggled with anxiety but at the time it was not identified as that. I always felt like I was different, a problem, or burden. As an adult, I found tools to help manage the anxiety such as yoga, breathing exercises, and talking about it. If I had the resources that Grant Halliburton Foundation provides, my struggles would have eased along with others who felt the same way I did. It’s an invaluable service that the Foundation provides, and I’m proud to be a part of the team.
