OUR MISSION

Grant Halliburton Foundation works to strengthen the network of mental health resources for children, teens, and young adults; promote better mental health; and prevent suicide.

OUR VISION

We envision a world where suicide is no longer a leading cause of death for young people and where everyone affected by mental illness has the support and resources they need to keep them resilient, healthy, and here.

OUR STORY

Grant Halliburton Foundation was established in 2006 in memory of Grant Halliburton, a Dallas teen who battled depression and bipolar disorder for several years before his suicide death at the age of 19. The Foundation that bears his name works to help prevent suicide by providing education, resources, and support for children, teen, and young adult mental health.

Since 2006, Grant Halliburton Foundation has provided mental health education, training, and support to more than 350,000 students, educators, parents, and professionals.

OUR PROGRAMS

EDUCATON

Grant Halliburton Foundation offers educational presentations for students, educators, parents, and professionals on mental wellness, suicide prevention, bullying, resilience, and other issues that impact youth mental health.

Our Building Blocks of Mental Health program for children and teens includes presentations on stress management, thinking traps, setting healthy boundaries, building resilience, coping skills, and suicide prevention. Our Building Blocks of Mental Health program for adults promots mental wellness, building resilience, developing healthy coping skills, understanding the teenage brain, recognizing the signs of depression, and suicidal crisis in youth. The Foundation also created Thrive, a comprehensive strategy for mental, social, and emotional health curriculum in schools.

Our educational conference When Life Hands You Teenagers is designed to bring the latest information on teen mental health to parents, school counselors, mental health professionals, and others who live or work with teens. At this conference, featuring keynote presentations by leading mental health experts and TeenED Talks, attendees learn about the issues impacting young people and how to help.

RESOURCES

Here For Texas, a resource program of Grant Halliburton Foundation, includes HereForTexas.com and the Here For Texas Mental Health Navigation Line. These free resources provide easy access to mental health and substance abuse support, connecting Texans with the right services based on their needs. Whether through our online database or personal navigation assistance, help is just a click or phone call away at 972-525-8181.

SUPPORT

The Foundation offers monthly peer support groups for moms and female caregivers of young people with emotional or mental health challenges, including Coffee Days and Charlas con un Cafecito for Spanish-speaking caregivers. These groups provide a supportive space to share experiences, resources, and information. Women often enter feeling frustrated and alone in the fight for their child’s health, but leave feeling supported, encouraged, and equipped with new tools and mental health resources. There is no cost to attend these groups.
