Boosting Brain Health: Simple Steps to Promote Clarity, Connectedness and Emotional Balance
The brain drives all that we do, think, create, overcome, solve, and feel. A healthy brain is essential for developing other healthy habits, elevating well-being, enhancing social connection, increasing years of productivity, and expanding creativity to deal with challenges across the entire lifespan. Research demonstrates how adopting brain-healthy practices can result in significant, measurable brain changes and improvements in overall quality of life. In this dynamic discussion, Dr. Cook will discuss brain health insights and recent innovations to inspire clarity, connection, and creativity at any age or stage.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Lori Cook, Ph.D., CCC-SLP currently serves as the director of clinical research for the UTD Center for BrainHealth at The University of Texas at Dallas. A licensed speech-language pathologist, she is also a senior clinician for the Center’s translational programs as well as an adjunct assistant professor for UTD’s School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences. In her roles as both a clinician and research scientist, Dr. Cook has focused largely on research investigating the long-term recovery of youth after brain injury, including recent work supporting youth athletes with persistent effects of concussion. She now also heads up research efforts for the Center’s landmark initiative, The BrainHealth Project.
