10 Things to Know About Meghann
Meet Meghann – Grant Halliburton Foundation’s mental health education presenter.
With more than six years in the classroom, Meghann is dedicated to helping others thrive. This is her driving force for advancing the Foundation’s mission to help families and young people recognize the signs of mental illness. Meghann is passionate about supporting students and their families navigate mental health concerns and believes education is the first step to overcoming stigma. She is devoted to teaching mental health and suicide prevention and advocating for its awareness in schools and communities in North Texas.
Here are 10 things to know about Meghann!
1. What was your first job?
For my first job, I was a cashier and bagger at my local grocery store when I was 14. I worked there until my senior year of high school and loved it!
2. What’s your guilty pleasure?
My guilty pleasure is eating Cheez-It crackers straight out of the box and watching “Love Island UK.”
3. What advice would you give to your teenage self?
If I could give my younger self any advice, it would be don’t rush growing up. Enjoy being just a teenager because you have your whole life to be an adult.
4. What’s your favorite movie scene and why?
My favorite movie scene is any scene from “Catch Me if You Can.” I love everything about this movie and can watch it repeatedly. I love the storyline, and I adore the cast.
5. What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
One thing people would be surprised to know about me is I’m completely fascinated with everything related to monarchs, the British monarchy specifically.
6. What would you name the autobiography of your life?
I don’t know that my life would ever reach a point of enough interest to write my autobiography, but if I did, I would title it “My Life as Told by Me.”
7. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I love spending time with my family, attending yoga classes, and traveling.
8. What are your top three TV shows you’re streaming right now?
Right now, I’m watching “Suits,” “Fargo,” and “The Crown” (for the second time), but I’m always open to recommendations!
9. Where’s your favorite travel destination and why?
My favorite destination is any place I see for the first time! I love to travel, and I would love to see as many countries as possible in my lifetime.
10. Why is Grant Halliburton Foundation’s mission important to you?
People all over are suffering from mental health issues, but the topic of mental health is still considered taboo. The first step to ending this epidemic is to talk about it. We must teach people about the signs and symptoms and how to get help.
